Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources: This department offers adult flag football leagues for men and women in the fall and spring seasons. The leagues are divided into different divisions based on skill level and competitiveness. You can register as an individual or as a team. The registration fee is $450 per team or $45 per individual. Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill

TRI SPORTS is a program that offers both men’s and coed leagues, with games played outdoors on well-maintained fields. You can choose from different days of the week, depending on your availability and preference. You can join as an individual, a group, or a full team, and enjoy post-game food and drink specials at their sponsor bars. You will also get a team shirt, online schedules and standings, and access to other social events and trips. TRI SPORTS flag football leagues are open to players of all skill levels, from beginners to pros. Here are some more details about their flag football leagues:

– The registration fee is $65 per player, which includes a team shirt, referee fees, field rental fees, equipment costs, and league administration costs.
– The registration deadline for the winter season is January 31st. The season runs from February 13th to March 27th.

Legacy Sports

 

Legacy Sports is a community organization that offers recreational leagues and academies for various sports, including flag football, basketball, soccer, tennis, running and PE classes. Their programs are open to boys and girls of different ages and skill levels, and they emphasize character development, sportsmanship and playing with purpose.

One of their programs is the winter flag football league, which runs from January 6 to February 24 in 2024. The league is held on Saturday afternoons at the Southbrook Church Athletic Field in Weddington, North Carolina. Charlotte

The Charlotte Flag Football League (CFFL) is a 7 on 7 men’s flag football league that offers different seasons throughout the year. Here are some details about the CFFL that you should know:

– The CFFL has four seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall. Each season lasts for seven weeks, plus playoffs. The games are played on Saturdays or Mondays, depending on the season. The game times vary from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.
– The CFFL is open to anyone who wants to join, either as a free agent or as a team. The team fee is $700, which includes the referee fees. The free agent fee is $75, which includes a team shirt. There are no hidden costs or additional fees.

The Junior Flag International Cup is a tournament that brings together teams from five countries to compete in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports. The event is hosted by USA Football and will take place in Charlotte, North Carolina, from July 5 to 8. Here are some details about the tournament and how you can get involved.

The Junior Flag International Cup features four categories: boys’ 15U, girls’ 15U, boys’ 17U and girls’ 17U. Each category has four teams representing USA, Canada, Japan, Mexico and Panama. The teams are composed of 12 athletes each and play under the International Federation of American Football’s (IFAF) five-on-five rules. The tournament consists of round-robin matches followed by semifinals and medal games.

The matches will be held at the United States Performance Center (USPC) and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The schedule for each category is as follows:

– Boys’ 15U: Matches start on July 5 at 9:00 a.m. and end on July 7 at 12:00 p.m. with the gold medal game.

The New Age Flag Football All Girls League is presented by Travis Crawford Heating & Cooling (if you need furnace repair, please support these guys! )and offers a safe and healthy environment for girls of different age groups to develop their social skills and athletic ability.

The league has five divisions based on grade level: Pre Wee (Kindergarten), Pee Wee (1st & 2nd Grade), Rookie (3rd & 4th Grade), Junior (5th & 6th Grade) and Varsity (7th & 8th Grade). The registration fee is $169 per player and includes a jersey, shorts, flags and a mouthpiece. The registration is open from October 1st through February 17th and there are no late sign ups or exceptions.

The season dates are Saturdays from March 23rd to May 11th. The games are played at Garinger High School Football Stadium, located at 1100 Eastway Dr. Charlotte, NC. The practices are one hour before the game times on Saturdays. For example, if your game is at 11am, you will practice at 10am.

The Region II UNC-Charlotte Flag Football Tournament is a regional event that takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina, from November 10 to November 12. The tournament is open to men’s, women’s, and co-rec teams from colleges and universities in the Region II area, which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The tournament is hosted by the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the NIRSA (National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association), which is an organization that promotes health and wellness through campus recreation. The NIRSA website has more information about the tournament, including registration fees, deadlines, rules, and eligibility. YMCA North Carolina Flag Football Programs

The UNC Competitive Flag Football club is open to anyone who wants to play flag football at a high level and compete against other teams in the region. The NFL Region II Flag Football Tournament hosted by University Recreation at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte tournament is open to men’s, women’s, co-rec, college unified and traditional special Olympics teams from different colleges and universities in the region. The tournament will take place at the Northeast Recreational Field Complex (NRFC) from October 20 to October 22.

To register for the tournament, you need to complete the following steps:

– Fill out the team entry and roster form and the waiver form and send them by mail, e-mail or fax by October 13. You can find these forms on the University Recreation website: https://urec.charlotte.edu/flagfootballtourney
– Pay the entry fee online or by phone. The fee is $275 per team until September 13, $300 per team from September 14 to October 13, and $350 per team from October 14 to October 18. Registration will not be confirmed until payment is complete.

The LP&R Rising Cavalier Flag Football program is offered by the Lillington Parks and Recreation Department which is a beginner league for children aged 6 to 8 years old who want to learn the basics of flag football and have fun with their friends. The league is open to both residents and non-residents of Lillington, and the registration fee is $25 for residents and $40 for non-residents. The registration period is from July 10 to August 17, and the season runs from September to October. The league follows the age cut-off date of November 1, which means that your child must be 6 years old by November 1 to join the league. The league also requires that all players wear black shorts and molded cleats for safety and uniformity. The league provides jerseys, flags, belts and footballs for each team.

The  WCPSS Girls High School Flag Football League  in Wake County is part of a larger initiative by the Carolina Panthers to promote girls flag football across the state and to make it a sanctioned varsity sport by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.

The Panthers have been working with school districts since 2021 to establish girls flag football leagues at the grassroots level, with the goal of reaching 25 percent of all member schools or half of a respective classification. So far, they have partnered with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Cabarrus County Schools, Union County Public Schools, and New Hanover County Schools, for a total of 64 schools participating in the program. The addition of Wake County will bring another 20 schools into the fold, surpassing the 50 percent mark and paving the way for a vote by the NCHSAA to sanction the sport.

The WCPSS Girls High School Flag Football League will celebrate its start on Thursday, January 11, with a special event at Apex High School, featuring appearances by Panthers players and staff, as well as representatives from USA Football and Nike. The league will run from January to March, with games played on Thursdays and Saturdays at various locations across Wake County. The league includes 19 high schools from Wake County, which will compete in three Saturday tournament-style competitions in January and February. The league aims to provide increased participation opportunities and access to the sport of football for high school girls in Wake County, as well as to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness .

The Carolina Panthers are also providing each high school with 25 sets of custom-made Nike uniforms and practice equipment, as well as covering game officials, coaching stipends, field prep, and other game-related expenses . The Panthers have been supporting the growth of girls flag football in North Carolina since 2022, when they partnered with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to launch the state’s first girls high school flag football program. Since then, they have also helped launch programs with Cabarrus County Schools and Union County Public Schools.

The Panthers hope that the success of the Wake County program will be a catalyst for the continued growth and participation by high schools across the region, and ultimately lead to the sanctioning of girls flag football as a varsity sport by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.

Some of the flag football opportunities in Central Carolina are after-school and summer programs for children and teens in Lee, Chatham, and Harnett counties. BGCCC has four club locations: O.T. Sloan in Sanford, Pittsboro Club in Pittsboro, Siler City Club in Siler City, and Robin Paige Club in Lillington. The UA RISE – Cary NC league offers flag football for boys and girls in grades Kindergarten through 6th. The league runs from September through November, with games taking place at Green Hope Elementary School. The registration fee includes an Under Armour game shirt and shorts for each player.  We also recommend that you purchase other safety gear like cleats, mouth guards and headgear here.

The league format is 6v6, with 8-10 players per team. Teams are formed by friend or coach requests, or by matching players with similar schools or neighborhoods. There are no tryouts or drafts. The league also provides voluntary practice sessions on game days, making it ideal for multi-sport athletes.

The league follows the youth flag rules and plays provided by TeamLinkt, which are designed to ensure safety, fairness and fun for all participants. All coaches and volunteers must have a current coaching certification and background screen. State law requires that all coaches, referees and volunteers provide a current BACKGOURND CHECK which must be updated every 2 years.
