South Dakota State University

If you are looking for a fun, safe and structured way to play flag football in South Dakota, you might want to check out the Intramural Sports Program at South Dakota State University in Brookings. This program offers a variety of sports activities for students and community members, including flag football, basketball, soccer, volleyball and more. You can participate in leagues or one-day tournaments throughout the semester, depending on your preference and availability.

To join the Intramural Sports Program, you need to have an active membership at the Miller Wellness Center, which is a state-of-the-art facility that provides fitness equipment, wellness education, health services and counseling services. You can purchase an all-access pass for $20.00, a league pass for $15.00 or a tournament pass for $5.00 at the Administrative Office of the Wellness Center. The registration for the Spring semester opens on December 4, 2023. The flag football league will start on January 16 and end on February 21. The registration deadline is January 10. The games will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Wellness Center Turf Field. The league is open to men’s, women’s and co-rec teams. The South Dakota Junior Football Program has been around since 1969 and offers tackle and flag football for boys and girls of different age groups.

Girls flag football is a new opportunity that started in 2022, and it is open to girls in grades 3 to 8. The program aims to teach girls the basics of football, such as passing, catching, running, and defending, without the physical contact of tackle football. Girls can learn the game in a safe and supportive environment, while having fun with their friends and teammates.

The games are played on Saturday afternoons at the Tea Athletic Complex, starting from August 19 and ending with a tournament on September 30. The game times are 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm, depending on the division. The tournament is based on the regular season standings, and each team will play one game.

South Dakota Mines Hardrockers

South Dakota Junior Football League

Dakota Domination is a sports organization that offers flag football for boys and girls from Pre-K to 5th grade in South Dakota and Iowa.
