Also in Delaware, the DIAA Unified Flag Football program is a partnership between the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) and Special Olympics Delaware (SODE) that brings together students with and without intellectual disabilities to compete on the same team.

The DIAA Unified Flag Football program started in 2018 and has grown to include 18 high schools across the state. The teams play a six-game regular season followed by a state championship tournament. The games are played on a 50-yard field with five players on each side. The rules are similar to traditional flag football, except that each team must have at least two athletes (students with intellectual disabilities) and two partners (students without intellectual disabilities) on the field at all times.

The DIAA Unified Flag Football program aims to promote social inclusion, physical fitness, and sportsmanship among the participants. It also provides an opportunity for students to develop friendships, leadership skills, and self-confidence. The program is supported by coaches, officials, volunteers, and fans who create a positive and respectful environment for the players.
