– The American Flag Football League (AFFL) is a professional flag football league that will launch its inaugural season in 2024, featuring teams from Boston, Dallas, Las Vegas, and Nashville. The AFFL aims to build a worldwide community united by their shared values through the game of flag football, which is one of the fastest-growing youth sports in America.

Flag football is a sport that is similar to soccer, but already beloved by Americans. It has the star power of the NBA, but drawing from a larger pool of star-caliber players. It is a game that is kid-friendly, but faster and more dynamic than baseball. The AFFL uses a 7 on 7 style of football, with a patented “Go Clock” that enhances the game and brings excitement and instant information to its fans.

The AFFL also has youth, women’s, and men’s amateur competitions, as well as partnerships with USA Football and WFFN National League to identify talent for U.S. Men’s and Women’s Flag National Teams. Flag football is set to make its Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028 Games, so this is a great opportunity to get involved in this sport.

– The Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) is an organization that promotes and organizes various sports programs for adults and youth in Texas. One of their popular sports is flag football, which is a non-contact version of American football where players wear flags that can be pulled by opponents instead of tackling.

TAAF offers flag football programs for both adults and youth, with different divisions and age groups. You can register your team through a TAAF member, which can be a city parks and recreation department or an affiliate member. – The USA Flag Texas State Championships  is a tournament open to anyone who wants to compete in various divisions and styles of the sport. Here are some details you need to know:

– The tournament will take place in Mansfield, TX on December 8-9.
– The registration fee starts at $300 per team, depending on the division and style. Referee fees are included in the registration fee. You can secure a spot with a $50 deposit.
– The deadline to register and pay in full is December 8 (7pm EST). No registrations or payments will be accepted past December 15 (7pm EST).
– The draft order and seeding will be determined by the time and date your team is registered. The earlier you register, the better pick you will have in the draft. Zoom drafts will be held the week leading into the event.
– The event format is a 3 game guarantee, with pool play + single elimination where everyone makes the playoffs.
– All teams will use Shruumz or Sonic Flag-a-Tag flags.
– The divisions offered are 4v4 Non-Contact, 5v5 Air-it-Out, 5v5 Non-Contact, and 7v7 Screen, for men, women, and coed teams, with different competitive levels (Pro, Elite, Comp, Rec, Open).
– The schedule blocks are designed to avoid conflicts between divisions and styles, so you can play in more than one division if you want.

Houston

– The Who’s Next NFL FLAG Football League is affiliated with the NFL and offers co-ed teams for girls and boys ages 4-17. You will get to wear official NFL jerseys and learn the fundamentals of the game from qualified coaches. You will also develop positive attitude, great sportsmanship, confidence and high moral standards.

Who’s Next NFL FLAG Football League has different programs for different age groups and skill levels. You can register online at https://www.whosnextnflflag.com/ or attend the registration party on February 26th, where you can also participate in skills and drills, meet Texans cheerleaders and more. The registration fee is $150 per player, but you can apply for financial assistance from Every Kid Sports, a national non-profit that helps pay for youth sports fees.

N Zone Sports Cypress is designed for kids of all ages and abilities who want to learn and improve their football skills in a safe and supportive environment.  The flag football program is available in various locations in Cypress, Bridgeland, NW Houston, Waller, Hockley, and Champions in Texas.

Corpus Christi

Padre Sports is a community organization that offers flag football programs for kids of different age groups and skill levels. Padre Sports flag football programs are designed to teach the fundamentals of the game, promote sportsmanship, and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. The programs are run by volunteer coaches who are trained and certified by Padre Sports.

The flag football programs are held at the Padre Sports Complex, which has three football fields with artificial turf and lights. The season runs from mid March to June, and each team plays 8-12 games depending on the division. The games are played on weekdays and Saturdays, and all players must attend at least one tryout date before being placed on a roster.

Longview

TD NFL Flag LLC  is a league that offers programs for boys and girls of all ages and skill levels in Longview, Texas. TD NFL Flag LLC is affiliated with NFL Flag, the official flag football program of the NFL and the International Federation of American Football (IFAF).

TD NFL Flag LLC provides a safe and non-contact environment for players to learn the fundamentals of football, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and have fun with their friends. The league follows the rules and guidelines of NFL Flag, which are designed to promote fair play, sportsmanship, and player safety.

The league offers two seasons: spring and fall. The spring season runs from March to May, and the fall season runs from September to November. The registration fee is $75 per player, which includes a reversible NFL Flag jersey, flag belt, mouthpiece, and insurance. The league also provides certified coaches, referees, and equipment.

The league has divisions for different age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-17. Each division has a maximum of 10 teams, with 10 players per team. Austin

If you are looking for a sport for girls, you might want to check out Texas Fury, the country’s premiere flag football organization for girls between 10 and 18 years old. Texas Fury is based in Austin, Texas, and has teams that compete in 10U, 12U, 14U and 17U 5v5 and 7v7 divisions.

The teams have won several national and international championships, and many players have received college scholarships and offers to play flag football at the next level. Texas Fury is also part of the Females in Flag movement, which aims to promote and grow women’s flag football across the nation. – The Austin Gay Flag Football League (ATXGFL) is a non-profit organization that welcomes players of all genders, sexual orientations and skill levels. The league aims to create a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies to enjoy the sport and make new friends.

The ATXGFL offers two seasons per year: spring and fall. Each season consists of eight regular games and a playoff tournament. The games are played on Saturdays at various fields around Austin. The league also organizes social events, community outreach and travel teams for national tournaments.

– The Spring Coed 8 v 8 Flag Football League (Thursdays) is open for registration until March 1st. The league runs from March 8th to May 10th, with games played at Beverly S. Sheffield Northwest District Park. The cost is $1045 per team or $105 per individual, plus a 6% processing fee. The program has three divisions based on grade level: Rookie (1st/2nd), Junior (3rd/4th) and Senior (5th/6th). The registration fee includes an NFL Flag jersey, flag belt and shorts. You also get a weekly practice at the T&C Fields, a 6-game regular season, and playoffs for the Junior and Senior divisions. The games are played on Thursday evenings, starting as early as 5:30pm and ending no later than 8:30pm.

Texas Fury, an all-girls select travel team based in Austin, Texas has teams that compete in 10U, 12U, 14U and 17U 5v5 and 7v7 divisions. They have won several national and international championships, including the FFWCT World Championship, the NFL Flag Bowl and the International Bowl in Panama. Gridiron Football

Gridiron Football is a  NATIONWIDE youth sports organization that offers 5v5 and 7v7 flag football leagues, tournaments and camps for boys and girls of all ages and skill levels.

Gridiron Football has several locations in Houston, including Katy, Clear Lake and UHCL. You can register online at https://www.gridironhouston.com/ . The registration fee is $125 per player . You can also choose your team color from 20 options if you are a volunteer coach.

Gridiron Football is not only a great way to learn and enjoy the sport of flag football, but also a chance to compete at a high level. Flag football is now an Olympic sport, and Gridiron Football hosts the Gridiron Tournament Series, which is the first and only premier event for elite 5v5 flag and 7v7 youth football teams. The next tournament will be held on June 18 at Katy International Sports Complex. The winners will receive championship rings!

SHIFT NFL Flag Football is a youth league that is part of the official NFL Flag Football family, and it is run by Charles Ali, a former NFL player who played with the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens. El Paso

The Sun Bowl Flag Football Tournament is a weekend-long event organized by the Sun Bowl Association and the Southwest Flag Football League, featuring different divisions for men, women and coed teams.

The tournament will take place at the Westside Sports Complex (201 Isela Rubalcava Boulevard, El Paso, TX 79932) from August 18 to 20.
