Columbus

If you want to play flag football in Mississippi, you might want to check out the flag football program offered by the Columbus YMCA. Flag football is a non-contact sport that involves running, passing, catching, and scoring touchdowns. It is suitable for players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to experienced athletes. The Columbus YMCA flag football program runs from September to November, with games played on Saturdays at various locations in the city. The program is divided into four age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12. Each team consists of 7 to 10 players, with a minimum of 5 players on the field at a time. The games are played on a 60-yard field, with two 20-minute halves and a 5-minute halftime. The rules are similar to regular football, except that there is no tackling or blocking. Instead, players wear flags that can be pulled by the opposing team to stop the play.

Jackson

JACKSON FREEDOM LEAGUE YOUTH FOOTBALL

Founded by  Coach Myron McGowan, the JFL operates as a stand alone league yet is  integrated for the benefit of experience of the players. Another programs for flag football in Mississippi is an adult flag football program offered by the City of Jackson Parks and Recreation Department. This program is open to men of all skill levels who want to enjoy the sport and meet new people. Here is a summary of what you need to know about the program:

– The registration period for the  season is from September 1 to October 2, with a late registration fee of $100 from October 3 to 9.
– The entry fee is $375 per team, which includes game officials, field maintenance, awards, and administrative costs.
– The coaches meeting is held on October 1 at 7:00 pm at Smith-Wills Stadium, where the rules, schedules, and other information are discussed.
– The games are played at Smith-Wills Stadium, which is a multi-purpose facility that can accommodate baseball, softball, soccer, and football.
– The league began on October 14 and consists of regular season games and playoffs.

Brookhaven

If you are looking for flag football for your kids in Brookhaven, Mississippi, you might want to check out the Youth Flag Football program offered by the Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Department. This program is open to boys and girls aged 5 to 10, based on their birthday as of December 31. The registration fee is $55 per person, and the deadline is August 9.

The season starts on September 11, and ends on October 16. Games are played on Mondays at the Exchange Club Park. Hattiesburg

The Southern Miss Regional Flag Football Tournament is an annual event hosted by the Campus Recreation department of the University of Southern Mississippi, which aims to provide quality and comprehensive programs, services, and facilities that enhance recreation and wellness for the university community.

The tournament is open to teams from various backgrounds and skill levels, including junior colleges, community colleges, military institutions, four-year universities, as well as men’s, women’s and co-rec open teams. The tournament has seven divisions: Collegiate Men’s, Collegiate Women’s, Collegiate Co-Rec, Collegiate Unified, Men’s Open, Women’s Open and Co-Rec Open. The winner of each collegiate division will receive a paid entry to the NIRSA National Championships, which is the ultimate prize for flag football enthusiasts.

The tournament  takes place at Tatum Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in December and the registration fee is $225 per team, and the deadline to register is November 27. Teams can pay online or by mail, and they need to fill out the appropriate forms and waivers for each player. The tournament will also have a student officials’ application for those who want to officiate the games.

Madison

The Nike Flag Football Camps in Madison, Mississippi are designed for youth football players of all abilities, from beginner to advanced, who want to learn the fundamentals of the game in a non-contact setting.

The Nike Flag Football Camps in Madison are held at Saint Joseph Catholic School, a beautiful campus with excellent facilities and fields. The camp is directed by John Bond, the head football coach at Saint Joseph, who has over 30 years of coaching experience at the high school and college levels.

The camp offers two sessions: one in June and one in July, each lasting four days from Monday to Thursday. The camp runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day, with a lunch break from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The campers are divided into groups based on age and skill level, and receive instruction from Coach Bond and his staff of qualified coaches and players.

The camp curriculum covers all aspects of flag football, including passing, catching, running, blocking, defending, and strategy. The campers learn through drills, games, and scrimmages that emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun. Southaven and Cherry Valley

If you are looking for a youth flag football league in Southaven, Mississippi, you might want to check out the Cherry Valley Youth Football League. This league is organized by the City of Southaven Parks and Recreation Department and offers four age groups for boys and girls: 5-6 year old flag football, 7-8 year old pee-wee tackle football, 9-10 year old little league tackle football, and 11-12 year old junior league football. The league also has a partnership with the Southaven High School Chargers football team, which is one of the top teams in Mississippi.

Pearl

Pearl, Mississippi has flag football and cheer programs offered by the City of Pearl Parks and Recreation Department. Here is a summary of what you need to know about these programs.

Registration for football and cheer is from June 1-30. The season runs from August to November. You can register online or in person at the Parks and Recreation office. The registration fee is $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents.

There are three divisions for tackle football: 7-8 year old league, 9-10 year old league, and 11-12 year old league. The games are played on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday evenings at different locations. The home games are TBD, and the away games are at Richland, Florence, Brandon, McLaurin/Star. The participants need to bring their own t-shirt, shorts, cleats, shoulder pads, helmet, pants with pads, and mouthpiece.

There is also a flag football division for younger kids who want to learn the basics of the sport without contact. The games are played on Saturday mornings at various locations. The participants need to bring their own t-shirt, shorts, cleats, and mouthpiece.

For cheerleaders, there is a date for uniform fittings that will be announced later. The basic package for the cheer uniform costs $90 and includes a uniform top, skirt, bow, poms, and bloomers. There are also some optional items that can be purchased if desired. The cheerleaders will cheer at the football games and also participate in some competitions and parades.

Horn Lake

The DeSoto Youth Sports Leagues (DYSL) flag football programs are a non-profit organization that offers flag football to youth ages 7-14 in Horn Lake, Mississippi. DYSL flag football programs are affiliated with the NFL FLAG, which is the official youth flag football program of the National Football League. NFL FLAG provides players with official NFL team jerseys, flags, and other equipment. It also offers coaching resources, online tools, and access to exclusive events and tournaments. Tupelo

The Tupelo Parks & Recreation league is open to boys and girls aged 6 to 11, and it teaches them the basic skills and sportsmanship of flag football. The games are played on Mondays and Thursdays at the BankPlus Sportsplex at Ballard Park, which has five lighted fields and other amenities such as restrooms, concession, walking track, skate park, and playground area.

The registration for the league is from May 16 to June 3 and the estimated start date is August 15. The cost is $45 for city residents, $55 for Tupelo School District (non city residents), and $70 for Lee County residents. Oxford

A great place to enjoy some outdoor flag football in Mississippi is at mTrade Park  in Oxford. This park is a premier destination for youth sports, hosting baseball, flag football, fast pitch and soccer tournaments throughout the year. It also offers flag football programs for both kids and adults in the fall season.

mTrade Park has 14 baseball/fast pitch fields, five soccer fields and four flag football fields, all with professional quality grass. It also has a 7,500 sq. ft. indoor practice facility sponsored by Oxford Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. mTrade Park is a standalone department under the City of Oxford that works with the Oxford Park Commission to provide the best sports experience for the community and visitors. Biloxi

The Biloxi Parks and Recreation Department organizes flag football for ages 5-6 and tackle football for ages 7-12. The season runs from mid-September to the end of October, with practices in the evenings and some possible Saturdays at the A.J. Holloway Sports Complex. All equipment is provided by the department, so you don’t have to worry about buying or renting anything.

To register for the football programs, you need to call 228-388-7170 or visit the Donal M. Snyder Sr. Community Center at 2520 Pass Road. You will also need to provide proof of residency and birth certificate. The registration fees are $30 for one child, $50 for two children, $75 for three children, and $90 for four or more children if you are a Biloxi resident. If you are not a Biloxi resident, the fee is $50 per child. The department also offers financial assistance for registration costs if needed.

The football programs are designed to help children develop their physical and emotional skills, as well as learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline. Brandon

Please note that there will be a $10 late fee if you register after June 25, and you will be placed on a waiting list. A list of Mississippi and  the sport of flag football wouldn’t be complete without the NFL FLAG Football program offered by the DYS League. NFL FLAG Football is a non-contact version of football that teaches the basic skills and rules of the game, while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and fitness.

The program is open to boys and girls aged 5 to 17, and is divided into four age divisions: 5-6, 7-8, 9-11 and 12-14. The DYS League provides all the equipment, including official NFL FLAG jerseys and belts, as well as certified coaches and referees. The games are played on Saturdays at the DYS Sports Complex, and the season runs from September to November.
