Indiana Flag Football

This website offers a variety of flag football leagues for boys and girls of all ages. The Spring league runs for 7 weeks beginning April and is available for boys and girls grades K-8. The registration fee is $85, which includes an official NFL Flag Team Reversible Jersey, game shorts, flag belts, league-approved ball, regular season games, playoff tournament, facility rental, game officials, and end-of-season awards. Unified Flag Football

A sport that combines students with and without intellectual disabilities on the same flag football team. It is one of the sports offered by the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) in partnership with Special Olympics Indiana.

Indianapolis

  • National Flag Football – Indiana
    • National Flag Football in Indiana offers flag football seasons in Fall and Spring every year. Games are played on Sunday afternoons, at either 1pm or 2pm, and are played outdoors.

Fort Wayne

  • The Plex
    • Flag football is offered at the Plex for 6-14 year olds. The season runs from October until January, and are offered as both boys leagues or co-ed. Games are played on Saturday afternoons, between 1pm and 3pm. The season runs for 9 weeks, before playoff games are played on the final weekend.

Carmel

  • Indiana Primetime Sports
    • Indiana Primetime Sports runs a 5v5 flag football league between October and December. Teams are split into three divisions: 3rd-4th grade, 5th-6th grade and 7th-8th grade. The season consists of 7 regular season games plus a single elimination tournament. Games are played on Saturday mornings.

Flag football soft cleats    metal cleats are NOT allowed in flag football.

Flag football headgear    soft, padded helmets, in some leagues these are MANDATORY, especially for kids under 14.

Flag football mouth guards   SO IMPORTANT for kids and MANDATORY for most leagues!

Flag football flags and belts    USUALLY supplied with your registration fee.

Flag Football Gloves    for those SERIOUS players wanting a little extra grip.

Flag Football Shorts    pockets are not allowed on your shorts.

Cheerleaders  everything you need to be a Flag Football Cheerleader!

Columbus

  • Youth Flag Football League: A recreational flag football program for boys and girls ages 5 – 13 in Blackwell Park. The registration fee is $75 and the early discount deadline is April 5, 2024.
  • Season and Tournament: The season consists of six games played on Saturday mornings, starting from a TBD date. There is also a single elimination tournament at the end of the regular season.
  • Registration and Refund: The registration period is from March 4 to April 12, 2024, 5pm. The refund deadline is also April 12, 2024, 5pm. Head coaches need to submit a background check form.
  • Officials Training: Anyone who is 14 years or older and wants to officiate the flag football games must attend an orientation on a TBD date and time at Blackwell Park.
  • Flag Football – Columbus Parks and Rec

Indy Youth Sports

  • Youth Flag Football League: A recreational flag football program for boys and girls ages 5-13. The division is determined by age on April 30, 2024. The registration fee is $75, with an early discount of $10 if registered by April 5.
  • Season and Tournament: The season consists of six games played on Saturday mornings, starting from a TBD date. There is also a single elimination tournament at the end of the regular season.
  • Background Check and Officials Training: The head coaches need to submit a background check form to the Donner Center. The officials need to attend an orientation on a TBD date and time at Blackwell Park.
  • Standings and Discrepancies: The standings are updated every Monday. Any discrepancies need to be reported before the games the following week.

Indiana Women’s Flag Football League (IWFFL)

a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for adult women and young girls to play flag football in Indiana and Pennsylvania.

  • Adult League: The IWFFL has a 18+ all-women’s non-contact league, playing Screen-Style flag football1. The league has 12 teams and 2 divisions, and runs weekly from May to August. The league also hosts one-day Bowl Tournaments in April and November.
  • Youth League: The IWFFL has a youth league for girls aged 4-14, playing a 5 v 5 Screen style game3. The youth league runs for 5 weeks from September to October, and is run by adult league player-volunteers.
  • History: The IWFFL was established in 2015 by Julie Sadler and Kaycee Newell, with 4 teams of 9 players each. The league has grown to 10 teams of 14 players each in 2019, and split into two divisions: 7v7 Hardcore and 5v5 Softcore in 2020. The league lost its co-founder Julie Sadler to cancer in 2018, and continues to honor her legacy.
