Statewide Leagues

There are many flag football leagues, community organizations and school programs in Oklahoma that offer flag football for different age groups, skill levels and genders. Here are some of the options you can explore:

Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA): This is the official governing body of high school sports in Oklahoma. OSSAA organizes flag football competitions for high school girls in the fall season. You can watch live and on-demand games on the NFHS Network website. Oklahoma Flag Football Association (OFFA): This is a non-profit organization that promotes and develops flag football in Oklahoma. OFFA runs several flag football leagues for youth and adults throughout the year. Norman Parks and Recreation Department: This is a city department that provides parks, trails, recreation facilities and programs for the citizens of Norman. Friday Night Lights Youth Flag Football program, which is affiliated with the NFL Flag Football program. This program is open to boys and girls in grades K-8th, and you can sign up as a team or individually. The games are played on Fridays at Buck Thomas Park in Moore, Oklahoma. The program has two seasons: fall and spring. The registration fee is $180 per player, which includes a game jersey and a flag belt. University of Oklahoma

If you are looking for a fun and exciting way to play American football without the physical contact, you might want to try flag football. Flag football is a sport where players wear flag belts that can be pulled by the opposing team to end a play, instead of tackling. Flag football is suitable for players of different skill levels and abilities, and it can help you improve your fitness, teamwork, and strategy.

One of the places where you can play flag football is at the University of Oklahoma, which has one of the most active intramural sports programs in the country. The university offers flag football leagues for students, faculty, and staff, as well as residential communities. You can choose from different categories, such as fraternity, men’s open, women’s open, coed, and faculty/staff. The leagues are played on the recreation fields on campus, which have artificial turf and lights.

The registration for the fall flag football season is open until September 5, and the games will start on September 10. Oklahoma City

The Oklahoma City Metro Flag Football League offers different divisions for men, women, co-ed, and youth teams of various skill levels. You can join as an individual or as a team, and enjoy the benefits of playing on well-maintained fields with certified referees and league standings.

The league runs two seasons per year: spring and fall. The spring season starts in March and ends in May, while the fall season starts in September and ends in November. Oklahoma Adaptive Sports Association (OASA) is a nonprofit organization that provides adaptive sports opportunities for people with physical disabilities. STRIKE LEAGUE was founded by Ben Ezugha, a former football player and coach who wanted to create a space for girls to enjoy the game he loves. He was inspired by the NFL’s youth programs and the inclusion of flag football in the 2028 Olympics.

Victory Sports

If you are looking for a Catholic alternative for youth sports, you might want to check out Victory Sports. Victory Sports is an association of Catholic sports leagues that brings together parish-based teams to teach children, grades 1-6, the beauty of the faith through the beauty of sport. They offer four sports: volleyball, basketball, soccer and flag football.

Flag football is a great way to introduce your child to the game of football without the risk of injury from tackling. IM Leagues

IMLeagues is the official intramural sports website for over 1100 colleges and universities, used to run their entire intramural programs online for over 2.7 million registered users.

IMLeagues offers various flag football leagues for different skill levels, genders, and groups. You can join as an individual or as a team, and you can register online using your school email address. You can also view the schedules, standings, stats, and rules of each league on the website.

Co-Rec Competitive Flag Football League: This league is for mixed-gender teams that want to play at a high level of competition. NCSA Women’s Flag Football

If you are a high-school athlete who loves playing flag football and wants to pursue it at the college level, you might be interested in learning about the opportunities for women’s flag football scholarships in Oklahoma. Flag football is a fast-growing sport that offers many benefits, such as improving physical fitness, teamwork, leadership and self-confidence.

According to the NCSA portal, there are currently 1472 active high-school women’s flag football athletes in the country, and 40 coaches at 26 universities and colleges that offer women’s flag football athletic scholarships. However, none of these schools are located in Oklahoma, which means that if you want to play flag football in college, you will have to look for opportunities outside of your state. The NCSA portal can help you with that by providing you with a list of states that have schools offering women’s flag football scholarships, as well as detailed information on each school and coach. You can also create a free profile on the portal to get exposure to college coaches and increase your chances of getting recruited.

Yukon Area

The Oklahoma Adult Athletics League (OAAL) organizes flag football games at Score OKC, a sports facility located at 18509 N Meridian, about five miles east of Piedmont city limits in the Deer Creek school district. The OAAL was founded by Austin Starks, a former Mustang High School football player and a tax preparer. The league aims to help the community stay active and connected through sports.

The next flag football season starts on October 27 and lasts until mid-December. There are usually 10 teams per season, and each team can have up to 15 players. The only requirement to join is to be at least 18 years old and to want to have fun. The registration fee is $65 per player, which includes a jersey, insurance, referees, and trophies. Tulsa

– The Annual Oklahoma Gridiron Classic on November 12-14 in Tulsa. This is a 5v5 flag football tournament for boys and girls ages 6-14. Driven Flag Football is a program owned and operated by former NFL star Donald Driver. Driven Flag Football is part of the NFL Flag family and offers opportunities for youth to learn the fundamentals of football while promoting discipline, dedication and teamwork. Here are some of the details you need to know about Driven Flag Football:

– There are two locations where you can play: Grapevine, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
– The Grapevine location is launching an All Girls League in Spring 2023. The Tulsa location is hosting a golf tournament on August 12, 2022 to raise money for kids to participate in sports.
– The registration for the Tulsa Fall season is open until August 31, 2022. The registration for the Grapevine Spring season will open soon.

– Driven Flag Football also has partnerships with Driven Elite Health and Driven Elite Academy, which provide health and wellness services and coaching and training methods for athletes.

-The Titan NFL Flag Football League at Titan Sports and Performance Center in Tulsa is a coed league for 1st to 8th graders, where teams of five players compete in eight games, including playoffs. The league is affiliated with the NFL and follows the NFL Flag rules.

The spring season of the league will run from March 23 to May 19. You can register online as an individual or as a team by March 10. The registration fee is $200 per player, which covers referee fees and a guaranteed eight games. Each player will also receive an official NFL Flag jersey and flag belt.

The games will be played on Saturdays between 9 am and 8 pm at the Titan Main Sports Complex, located at 101 East 81st Street South, Tulsa, OK 74132. The complex is a state-of-the-art facility that offers a range of sports programs, such as basketball, volleyball, pickleball, soccer, and fitness. It also has a sports bar, a concession stand, and a childcare service for members.

Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights Youth Flag Football is a non-profit organization that started in California in 2006 and expanded to Oklahoma in 2016. It offers flag football leagues for boys and girls in grades K-6, with a 6v6 passing format and minimal contact. The leagues are run by experienced coaches who aim to provide a high quality and enjoyable experience for the players.

There are currently four leagues operating in the area: Edmond, Choctaw, North OKC and Moore. Each league has its own website where you can find more information about registration, schedules, rules, fees and contact details. Registration for the fall season usually takes place in May or June, while registration for the spring season usually takes place in December or January. The games are played on Friday nights, hence the name of the organization.

The annual All-City Turkey Bowl, which is a flag football tournament open to any team from kindergarten to eighth grade, is held in November at Buck Thomas Park in Moore, Ok. The registration fee is $250 per team and the registration deadline is November 9th.

The Friday Night Lights Youth Flag Football league is open to boys and girls in grades K-6th, and offers a safe and non-contact version of the sport. You can sign up as a team or individually, and play with your friends, neighbors, and classmates. The league has professional and paid game officials, and only one practice per week. The games are played on Fridays at Bouse Sports Complex in Choctaw.

The spring season is now open for registration, and the price is $180 per player, which includes an authentic game jersey. YMCA

YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City offers spring youth sports, including flag football, for children aged 3 to 14. You can register online or at any YMCA location until February 25. Norman

The Norman Optimist Club Fall Flag Football League is open to children from kindergarten to sixth grade and offers a competitive and safe environment to learn and enjoy the sport.

The league runs from September 17 to November 5, with games on Sundays. There is no game on Fall Break or OU/Texas weekend. The post season schedule is to be determined. The registration fee is $105 per player, which includes everything except cleats and mouthpiece. You can register online through the normanyouthsports.org website until August 25. After that, there is a late fee of $125.

The teams are formed by a draft system, except for returning players who can choose to stay on the same team or go into the draft. The league provides jerseys for all players. There is a gate fee of $5 for adults 18+ and under 55, $2 for seniors 55+ and free for children 17 and younger. The gate fee helps cover the costs of equipment, field maintenance, referees, EMTs, utilities and more.

Stillwater

Next Level Sports is a program that offers flag football leagues for kids from kindergarten to 6th grade in various locations across the US. Next Level Sports partners with local high schools and universities to provide high-quality coaching, facilities, and equipment for the participants.

One of the locations where you can join Next Level Sports is Stillwater, Oklahoma. Next Level Sports has teamed up with Oklahoma State University to offer a flag football season for the first time in 2024. The season will run from February 17th to March 16th, with games played on Saturdays at the university’s campus. The registration fee is $205, which includes a custom jersey, shorts, flags, and other offerings. You can also purchase optional player packs with additional gear such as receiver gloves, hoodies, compression tights, and more.

The flag football program offered by Broken Arrow Youth Football Association (BAYFA) is open to all youth who will be in kindergarten through the third grade and who live in Broken Arrow or nearby communities.

The flag football season runs from August to October, with games played on Saturdays at the football complex at Neinhuis Park. The park is located east of Lynn Lane between 51st and 61st Street in Broken Arrow. Each game lasts about an hour and is supervised by certified referees. The Score OKC hosts the premier indoor sports facility in the Edmond, Deer Creek area. Score OKC has two indoor turf fields that are perfect for flag football, as well as other sports like soccer, futsal, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, and more. You can join one of their adult indoor flag football leagues, or rent the fields for your own games or events. Here are some details about their flag football program:

The registration cost is $160 per team for eight weeks, plus $20 per team per game for official fees. The league offers t-shirts for the first place team.
